SUPERMAN RETURNS

I watched the highly anticipated movie last Wednesday at SM North Edsa with 15 of my Aguman orgmates. Our org decided to watch this movie as an official bonding activity, thus our big number. We had dinner at the foodcourt and we were worth 3 rows of seats on left side of Cinema 4.

So, the all-important question -- was it worth the wait? Frankly, I don't know, haha! The release dates of the first four Superman movies are 1978, 1980, 1983 and 1987. Since I was born in 1984, ibig sabihin noon, isang Superman movie pa lang ang nadatnan ko. I have a vague memory of watching one of these Reeve starrers on Betamax as a child. I can't tell which Superman movie it was. I can't even remember the story! So in short, watching Superman Returns is like a fresh movie for me, I have no point of comparison. Besides, I wasn't exactly waiting for this movie, haha! Having watched a lot of movies in theaters in late May (thus, I've seen its trailer many times as well), I wasn't at all excited on this Superman movie. In my mind, I know I'll be watching it. I just didn't have this I-couldn't-wait-anymore madness, hehe. If watching the movie wasn't an official org activity, I wouldn't watch the movie on its first screening day.

BUT, I did enjoyed the movie. I can't say that I'm a Superman fan, whether it be in movies, cartoons or comics. I didn't even watch Lois & Clark on ABC 5! But I'm a huge Smallville fan. Siguro naman, pwede na iyon, diba? Haha! The adult Clark Kent played by newbie Brandon Routh was a fun watch for me. I don't know, maybe its because, all of a sudden, this Clark Kent has some sense of humor even if Chloe Sullivan's witty sarcasm isn't around to back him up. I can safely say that Routh deserved the part.

As for Kate Bosworth - well, she's pretty. Syempre, yun lang nasabi ko no? Haha! I can't really compare her to Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, because, like I said, I wasn't into Lois & Clark. But compared to Erica Durance of Smallville, I like Durance more. Si Rosie ng Win A Date With Tad Hamilton ang nakikita ko, hindi si Lois Lane. =p

Ah, James Marsden - poor, poor fellow. Why does he always have to end up the 1st runner-up? Haha! It's The Notebook ending for him all over again. I still wished he still stayed on X3. I can't say this role was worth giving up Cyclops, because they're entirely different characters. Hindi naman kasi siya mutant sa Superman eh. Unless, he becomes a villain in the next Superman movies. Hmmm...

TENNIS

Wimbledon Championships has begun this week -- and I've heard that Andre Agassi is playing albeit for the last time. So I'm trying to reviving my interest on this sport. You see, we had cably TV in the mid 90's. That was when I was exposed to watching tennis on sports channels by my dad. It was the era of Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Steffi Graf, Boris Becker, Michael Chang, Martina Hingis. Of course, this era was reigned by Pete Sampras. I can't remember why I liked Agassi better. Haha! Eh halos lagi naman natatalo si Agassi kapag kalaban niya si Sampras. Haha!
I have forgotten why I sort of lost touch with this sport. Maybe it started in college, because I couldn't watch the games anymore. We didn't have cable TV in my boarding house then. And so, fast forward to almost a decade later, I'm not aware who are the better players these days. Well, kilala ko naman ang likes nina Hewitt, Henin-Hardinne, Clijsters, Safin, Nadal -- I hear their names on TV from time to time and from my housemate who's a tennis freak, haha! At wag kayo, alive pa pala si Martina Hingis! Too bad, she lost o Sugiyama (I caught the game last night).
Tennis is one sport that I like that I haven't played myself. Hehe. While I am not a sporty person, I do like Volleyball, Badminton, Bowling and Tennis (yeah, the sports that geeks prefer, haha!). I've played all sports myself except for Tennis. It's kinda ironic because we have these 2 graphite rackets at our cabinet. Kailan ko kaya sila magagamit? Pang-mayaman na sport kasi to eh! Hehe!

EMPERADOR

Ha! Picture a person who thinks drinking the night away is no fun at all. In times of problems, while most people would invite friends to binge on drinks with them, he'd rather binge on chocolates and delicious food to cushion his depression. Well, the person you're picturing is me, hehe!

Hindi talaga ako mahilig sa inuman. Why? Kasi mapait! Haha! Pero nakainom na rin naman ako - beer, beer lite (haha!), mga gin with some juice with it. Alcohol is not the issue for me, it's the taste that bothers me. For as long as the alcoholic drink tastes good, I would want to drink it, hehe.

So there, I've never been drunk in my life. But last Thursday, I think I was close to being one. Nag-Emperador kami ng mga orgmates ko. Haha! Wow, that's something not even the people closest to me couldn't imagine me doing. Well, yeah, my head was already aching, but I was still sober -- alam ko pa ang sinasabi ko, at nakakalakad pa ako ng diretso. I give credit to my Dizon genes -- lahi kasi kami ng mga tomador. Though I haven't exactly exercised the hereditary skill, haha!

Yun lang, just wanna share I did an outrageous thing this week. Sorry kung medyo corny, pero para sa katauhan ko, outrageous na iyon. At ako pa nag-yaya na uminom - pero Vodka Mudshake ang niyaya ko ha, hindi yung Emperador. Trips lang talaga siya. There was no occasion, no celebration, no problems to talk about. It was just a spur of the moment thing.

Weird nga eh, because this morning I woke up with a headache. I can't think of any reason why. Siguro, delayed ang hangover ko? Haha

Gee blogs: Time Goes by... So Slowly...(LIS Acquaintance PaRtY)

It's 10:30 pm and OMG! Kakarating ko lang galing school. It's been a very very very long day for me...

First, OUR FIRST EXAM SA LIS 62... Dayum! As usual... LATE NA NAMAN! errr... badtrip, 100 items siya1 Goodluck!

Then, OUR FIRST REPORT SA LIS 160... okay naman siya but we didn't know that kailangan pala ng written report... so we rushed to the library while others are reporting... haha! we're really really bad!

So, 3 HOUR - VACANT... i'd read my readings sa HUM1... went down to buy food sa CASAA... and luckily, I met Jobel sa libwalk... Nice! Yup! She was nice because she accompanied me sa CASAA kahit kumain na siya... hehe... Then we saw this guy from the ANIME group... i think he's name is MICO.. yup! he's a UP student... Astig pala siya! hehehe... And Jobel found him CUTE pala... Haha... so we planned to take him a pic... being so unlucky, the shot was soooo bad... So we deleted it... And guess what? We planned to talk to him to ask for his pic! hahaha... how pathetic! Siyempre... trip trip lang xa... wala pa kasi kaming masyadong ginagawa... Then, we went to lib. - foreign serials section but before that, umakyat muna ako sa tambayan... And I was Sooo happy kasi KELVIN chose me to be his BUDDY... YAY! may buddy na ako! ANG SAYA... HEHE...

After that, I went up to CAL new building 4TH FLOOR... HUM1... boring... until Sir Aguila asked me this question: " Kung ikaw ba si Juliet at nalaman mong nagpakamatay si Romeo nung inakala niyang patay ka na, magpapakamatay ka rin ba? Bakit?"... Well, I simply answered "Opo! kasi po wala na si Romeo at wala nang kwenta ang buhay ko!"... Errr... And my prof said " Napaka-romantiko mo naman pala magmahal!". Dayum! That statement is soooo disturbing! Actually, the only reason why did I say that is because I don't want him to ask me a lot of supporting questions kasi nga, sobrang inaantok na ko... And I was really embarassed when I heard the reaction of my classmates... "Uyyyyyyy... yiheeee..." As if, lahat sila kinilig! haha...

4:00pm... Jane, Dia and me bought the stuffs needed for our drinks... haha... tagal din nun.... nagstay pa kami sa house nina Dia to REST!

So, ayun nah... ACQUAINTANCE PARTY NAH (ang tagal noh? hahaha...)... And dun ko lang na-feel na complete kaming Progcom... actually, 3 lang nmn kami (haha!)... pero, wala lang... I'd enjoyed their company kanina (Jane and Herson)... lalo na nung paubos na yung juice... And errr... TUMAKBO KAMI MULA MAINLIB HANGGANG SHOPPING CENTER... san ka pah? haha... Actually, eventhough nakakapagod siya, it was a heck of fun! And nung pagbalik namin, na-touch ako sa buddy ko... he said " Ate Geeahne, kain ka nah...".. Hehe.. la lang... I was not like not kasi kay Ate Andrea (my buddy) nung applicant pa lang ako kaya ayun...

So, for the program proper... I can say na okay naman siya... I like our org's powerpoint presentation... Yung MUCHAS GRASAS pic ng BATCH namin and yung LESBIAN pic ko w/ ATE KATE... haha! Actually, we're playing a game kasi that's called SUCK AND BLOW... yung parang I.D. Pass... And, honestly,,, ang sagwa ng pic... HAHA!... I also liked the dance number of UP DANSA... (Time goes by... so slowly...)... hehe... And the enormous performance of UP REP... ayun...

Hmmm... what can I say about the new LIS Students? HAHA! MADAMI NA NAMAN AKONG CRUSH SA KANILA... AT NABUBUKING NA AKO NINA VERON... hehe... HINDI AKO AAMIN! hahaha...

And... what else? may part na nakakinis... pero... kinalimutan ko nah... haha1

And about UP FLIPP... actually, habang dumadami na yung mga activities namin, mas lalo nang napapamahal sa akin yung org kong ito... especially each members... hay... dramah! hehe... Ngayon ko pa lang kasi nafee-feel yung pagiging member kasi ngayon pa lang ako nagiging active... haha!

So, ayun... ang haba ng day ko noh? hehe

Ron blogs: The Man of Steel is truly back!!!

It is the movie that invaded the 3 cinemas of SM Baguio. It is the movie that everyone’s been waiting for. It’s a bird…it’s a plane…nooooo it’s Superman! I really hate to say that but I have to because it is how we recognize the movie. Harhar.

Well the truth is..I was never a big Superman fan but I am one of those people who wants to watch the movie on its first day. Hehe. And guess what… I failed to do that. I was trying to convince my officemates to come and catch the premiere of the most-awaited movie of the year. Unfortunately nobody’s available. I was really in a hurry because I demand to be one of the firsts to watch Superman Returns. Overall, the plan was ruined. I was not able to watch the movie on its first day. You might think I am overstating this but hey I am not.
Along came the spider….second day of Superman Returns. I have made up my mind and I can watch the movie by myself. Hehehe. Well that’s what really happened. I came to watch the movie alone. This was not really my first time to watch a movie on a moviehouse alone but it just feels awkward. lol.

Now let’s get down to business. My overall impression on “Superman Returns” is outstanding. I darned enjoyed the movie. I never really liked the same old story of Superman but the new actors made it way way different from the past Superman movies (Christopher Reeves times).. Brandon Routh’s acting performance will be rated as 7 because he was not able to act it extremely out. But when it comes to the physical attribute I think Brandon’s the right option for the role. Lois Lane,portrayed by Kate Borsworth is beautiful. She is by far the most gorgeous actress who has played Lois. Surprisingly, she has outacted Brandon on some of their scenes together. And finally on Lex Luthor! Yikes, Kevin Spacey is definitely the man! He could’ve gotten a Best Villain award. I like it when he shouted at Lois. hehe.. As always he has great acting performance.

I have lots of favorite scenes.. One of them is the scene in the airplane. When Superman lands the plane Lois is in. The moment Superman opens up the door and their eyes meet…that was a big hit! hehe

Well I can’t make spoilers anymore..baka magalit na yung mga hindi pa nakakapanood. LOL

I think shifting to parliamentary form of government is not just necessary but timely. first, it's been 100 years since the present form was implemented, and the aging of the current form of government would not afford us to effect the necessary development. second, the parliamentary form of government will fix all our institutions, a whole new face, whole new expectations. third, since the executive and legislative branches of government will already be merged, less gridlock. better for projects that should require immediate funding. problem with the presidential, when there are projects conceptualized by the executive departments even so much thought of, the congress would always block the funding by not giving enough approrpiations to these departments. the parliamentary form will resolve the problem because the project proponents will be the same to give the funding. there are lots of unfunded projects in the government which are very good but because of politics, were deprived of funds. fourth, the parliamentary government will give importance to technocrats. departments or ministries will be rationalized in such a way that those non-functional offices or bureaus will be abolished. fifth, the duality of government will provide a demarcration between politicos and statesmen. politicos will vie for the ceremonial post of president; the intelligent statemen's arena will be the parliament.

I think the change is timely. there is no harm in making a shift especially if the old form has been proven to be ineffective anymore. moreover, some provisions in our present constitution are already obsolete, means applicable pa nung time nila aguinaldo..why, even the American Government conssistently effects ammendments to their charter to suit the current needs?

I filed my resignation last June 19 and it will be effective July 3. Tomorrow,I may be going down to Manila to start a new chapter of life(lol)..

Well it’s a mixed feeling of sadness and excitement. I’m sad because I will surely miss all my friends in that company. Excited because I finally made a huge and important decision that could possibly change a lot in my life. I thought I am a terrible decision-maker but I know that this time I will make a difference. I learned a lot from this job and I know I can strongly survive in the jungle of Manila. So bring it on…..

Ii prepared my stuffs for homework then i slept for an hour i guess. haha. :) too tired. i felt all sleepy at school a while ago.

Pete, jadine and i always have laughtrips together. its nice conversing to people especially if you have common personality. its great.

TLE is a headache. why should it be scheduled in the afternoon?! it strikes my sleepy nerves. what a crap.

Oh well, i just blogged because i went to research for something. later. :D

Rex blogs: Here freshie, freshie!

(The title should be read the way you would call you cats, "Here kitty, kitty!" Haha! =p)

Two weeks of classes have gone by and like other 1st semester starters, school has been pretty interesting particularly because of the newest members of the campus – the freshies!

I had my first encounter with a freshie on the very first day of class (June 13). As always, I rode an Ikot jeep to my first class. And as I sat down inside the jeepney, there was this young-looking guy seated opposite me, whose attire screamed freshie, freshie, freshie! Haha! His fashion sense was pretty okay and simple – he sure doesn’t seem to come from those science high schools, hehe! He was wearing a rebel-like shirt, a neat pair of pants and a cool pair of rubber shoes. It doesn’t seem so freshie so far, right? I mean, the average UP upperclassman wears the same pieces. It was the long brown envelope inscription: Mabuhay ka! Iskolar ng bayan! It didn’t help that he was holding a small towellete and a binder of mini-notebooks (whose number, by the way, is obviously more than the number of subjects that kid was probably enrolled in for the sem. There was like 10 of them).

On another Ikot ride to class, I was the only passenger. Then suddenly, the driver pulled over because 2 freshies were flagging down his jeep. I was so sure they were freshies because no upperclassman would flag down a jeep just anywhere – we all know there are designated waiting shed for unloading/loading of passengers. When the jeepney stopped, one of the girls asked the driver, “Manong, dadaan po bang gymnasium ito?” Haha! Of course, no upperclassman calls the gym in its non-truncated version and he would surely know that the Ikot indeed passes by the gym. Lastly, the other girl was holding a plastic envelope and inside was the UP Diliman campus map.

(FYI) In UP, student organizations have designated tables and chairs which we call our tambayans. It’s common occurrence during the first week classes when we would see random faces sitting at out tables. Obviously, these kids don’t know that the tables are exclusive for student members. We can't blame them of course, they probably haven't read their survival kits from cover to cover, hehe.

Last year, my morning class ended earlier than usual so I went straight to our AS tambayan to eat breakfast. There was this girl freshie seated on our table writing on a piece of bluebook. I didn’t ask her to leave, of course, I just sat in front of her and minded my own business, hoping she’ll soon realize on her own that she’s in an awkward situation. This year’s freshie tambayan blooper was funnier. Two orgmates of mine arrived at our tambayan with a boy freshie seated in one of our benches. As always, they didn’t ask him to leave. But when it was time for the freshie’s next class, he asked my orgmates if they had a ballpen. Thinking that he was just about to write something in a jiffy, they offered him one. Then the freshie asked, “Nandito pa ba kayo ng 10am? Babalik ko na lang mamaya…” Haha! My orgmates were amusingly shocked so they just told him if they aren’t around when he comes back, he can just leave the ballpen in the table. O diba, hindi masyadong handa ang freshie na ito. At ang tapang pa niyang manghiram ng ballpen for 2 hours kung kani-kanino, haha!

Okay, You’re probably thinking I'm a rude, unwelcoming, freshie-bashing senior, haha! I'm just having a laugh at the innocent bloopers of these college newbies because my own freshie memories sort of come back. This is not a post to poke fun at them. This is just a reminder to all upperclassmen like me that for a time, it was us committing our own freshie bloopers.

When I was a freshie, I was trying so hard to dress as cool as I can. Syempre, first time ko hindi mag-uniform sa school. Of course, looking back on my own fashion sense then, I would definitely cringe. I was more conscious of how trendy I would look instead of how comfortable I am. Eventually, I realized that comfort comes first. Mind you, it’s no mean feat to like dress up for a party and walk long distances under the sun in between classes. These days, I prefer to wear any comfort-fit shirt and pants and a pair of sandals.

On my very first day as a college freshman, I was not without bloopers myself. I was in the Math building and I wanted to go to the Registrar (OUR) to obtain an ID-picture-taking appointment. My campus map says I had to walk around a block to get there. I didn’t know there was a shortcut for it wasn't on the map. From the Math Building, I had to walk to ASTEC, then the new NIP (back then, the new NIP building was non-existent) and passed by a few shanties to get to the OUR. For those who can't imagine what I'm saying because you probably haven't been to our campus – in short, I had to walk 3x the distance because I didn’t take the shortcut.

So there, to all freshies (lalu na yung mga Isko/Iska), well, welcome to college! Have fun in your first year. In terms of academic stress year and free time, this is going to be your best year in college! Haha! Make the most out of it! =p

Today is a bad day. a day worth forgetting. i hate home. i rather want to be in my lousy school than in a lousier house. later.

The Nomination -Ann

I had half expected that charles will be topping the poll coz he has the ability to make people feel his presence, and most of all i think he's so friendly. gusto nya kong ipagluto sya! haha

I had done my task with ron but with such difficulty coz timing na cyado cya busy sa work. i would want him to take a personality test pero di rin nya natapos so it was impossible for me to thread his personality. my impression of him is that he is a silent and shy person, but at the same time result-oriented.

With benj, naku madami na akong utang dito! sa kanya ko dapat ibibigay ang -1 saving points ko, and in activity 1, i would have casted him as my most favorite co-VH. i am thinking to volunteer to him 29 more facts about me para wala na siyang demerits from Big Bad Kuya.

Jamila and i was able to chat na rin! as i have expected, magkaka-jibe nga kami in few things, that was my impression when i first read her profile.

Geeautiful, gee is really beautiful inside. mukhang suplada sa pictures but in real life, opposite pala. mahiyain lang cguro, and she said may inferiority complex din cya. ha ha! parehas kami in that aspect. mahiyain din ako like her when i was her age, but eventually because of my college training, i overcame that defect. it proved to be more of a defect than a + because college environment was very competitive. kailangan makisabay ka. but of course, "hiya" is still an admirable trait that we should treasure as Filipinos, it still has its advantages...

Betting Game

The much awaited match between the Philippines and Mexico’s finest boxers will be held in Manila live on July 02, Sunday.

Through Friendster, interested VHs have to send their choice, Pacquiao or Larios, and the amount of points. VHs can bet from 1 point to 10 points. Points will be converted into saving points (bet wins) or evicting points (bet losses) depending on the results of the Pacquiao-VS-Larios Fight. All bets after Saturday 11:59PM will not be accepted. Betting Game is non-compulsory.

The Poll -Benj

I think the poll is open to interpretation since there was no clear criteria set. The question itself is weird to the casual visitor. What the hell is a '-2' bonus? It's something that most people wouldn't understand.

I thought the poll was supposed to determine who among the VHs could command the vote of the public - regardless of the means used. That's the way it goes in the real game. Sometimes the viewing public (and even those who dont watch that much) vote for reasons most people won't even understand. That's the way the game is played - the non-fantasy version.

OMG! Tanggal na c JINELLE! Nakaka-disappoint naman... Pero infairness naman, deserve din niya. Hay sayang naman, Kung kelan naman madalas na xang mag-online and kung kelan ko naman siya nakaka-chat nah. Errr... he's one of the VH pa naman that I'm really interested of kasi, aside from the fact that pareho kaming taga-pasig and pareho kaming 19, I think he's friendly and all that and there's more appealing events that are happenning sa life niya, yun nga lang, wala siyang time to share that through his blog kasi nga busy xa...

Well, if you ask me, the poll question did not serve its purpose well. because really, (no offense to those who had lots of votes), i dont think majority of the voters weren't really followers of the game. i think it would be better if actual followers of the game (eg, former VHs, members of the pbbfgforums) vote on the poll next time. that way, it will be a reliable outsiders' opinion. just my 2 cents worth.

VHs on their Johari's Window

Charles: Nagakamali pala ako sa activity 2... dapat pala may VH before ng name! Naku, yan tuloy, may penalty ako! Hay... sasusunod nga babasahin ko na ng mabuti ang task, para di na ako magkamali!

Jamila: Im having a problem about my johari window. so far, i got 2 people visiting my johari window.

So for my reactions,,, I can't believe that a lot of them sees me as a friendly person. And dominant trait pa siya... Kasi, I do feel that they often view me as a SNOB and MATARAY... actually, first impression kasi sa akin yan (madalas).

I picked ACCEPTING, CARING, CHEERFUL, ENERGETIC, SENTIMENTAL AND SYMPHATETIC. And all of them appeared in the ARENA... nice! does it mean that I'm transparent? hehehe...

And even though only 26% picked CONFIDENT, I'm still surprised. Gosh!

I wonder y things have their reason to happen..Like knina... i go to st.scho to for my sunday class then unfornately i have to commute coz my dad is out of town..so hindi nya me msusundo.. Before going to school im thinking of my ex actually not bcoz mahal ko pa xa its bcoz until now im wondering y he fooled me.. im asking myself if my pagkukulng ba ko kya nya ngawa ung mga ganong bagay..?! then after my class i ate muna in mc do with my classmates then have a lil chit chat.. after that im planning to go home na.. accidentally nung nsa taft ave. na ako.. i saw mark * my ex, the guy im thinking of earlier* .. i saw him walking then...im totally shocked coz knina iniisip ko lng xa then now nakita ko na.. he said na pauwi na din xa from school..then he asked me if pde daw umalis kmi and have a talk..wala na din nmn akong gagwin so pumyag na akho.. then while were eating insyd yellow cab.. i asked him, the same question na y nya ako niloko..?! during the break up..i have no time na tanungin xa coz all inside my mind is anger and hatred..kaya i grab the opportunity na tanungin xa knina.. then he said that na hindi ako ang mali.. kasalanan nya daw coz dat time na kami pa he felt that loving me is like fyting the whole world.. dnt know y he said that.. then he elaborate more.. but ill keep it na lng hindi ko na sasabhin.. mark is only a simple guy in our school, i loved him coz he's the only 1 who saw my ugly side..and the way he treated dati is kakaiba meaning not like the other boys na treat me like a star sya he treat me like a nobody.. dati pa nga sinupladuhan nya ko when nging partner ko xa in a quiz bee competition in ADU..coz hindi kc mag classmate that time..harhar..now.. happy xa sa gf nya but still sabi nya mahal nya pa din ako.. and he offered na hihiwalayan nya ung gf nya if gsto ko para mging bf ko xa.. but said na wag nyang gawin yon coz i know the pain ng iwan ng minamahal and i said na im in a realtionship now eventhough..... haayy..

Ok, i made a useless post yesterday. haha. so i erased it. silly me. :p

An early morning post. yeah. it's raining cats and dogs here right now. typhoon i guess. they love Bicol. haha. :D mom still hasn't come home. i hope she's okay. i miss her. mom's back!

I woke up before 6am and watched TV. it made my head really ache. darn.

And oh, i watched the sequel to the video First of Summer by Urbandub kanina sa MTV Philippines. the song is Endless, A Silent Whisper ata yun. basta, the video talks about yung dad nung bidang girl and the father died stuff. basta, you'll love it. :)

Moving on, it's Sunday! i hope we won't have class yet tomorrow! argh. i did all my homeworks na except for two and i already scanned my notes para sa mga tests bukas. hehe. so, medyo konti na lang ang gagawin ko mamaya. yey.

Im usin' dad's PC kasi lugmok ang PC ko ngayon. ang bagal ng internet. asar. ay ewan.

I have to check my friendster and multiply pa. later. :D

Rex blogs: A Fresh New Start

Whew! The first half of the 2006 is already nearing its end. And Looking back at the events of the past 6 months, I can safely say that it’s the worst months of my life. It’s practically my own life’s version of the Dark Ages! Haha! But the past week, I feel like my own Renaissance had started ushering in.
